Recovering
So, the Plowing Match has now been over for 4 days now and I can feel my body is still tired from the preparation and early mornings. I find myself nodding off while trying to wtach television, I suppose I should just go to bed and get a good sleep. Just a brief wrap-up of the IPM, on Saturday (the last day) I got to take a helicopter ride (I had a free pass), which was pretty cool considering I had never been on a copter before. It was amazing to see Tented City from the air and the surrounding area, which is so beautiful with the rolling hills and Rice Lake nearby. Final attendance is around 80,000 people and we are very happy with how it all came off, without too many problems and most people seem to have enjoyed themselves.
There is also of course the ending of my job contract (this Friday is my last day), which will be very sad for me, I have really enjoyed my time at the IPM and in particular working with Norm, Ruth and Marina, my co-workers. I hope to stay in touch with Ruth and Marina afterwards, and something tells me their might be some tears on Friday.
On a final note, I have been offered a very interesting proposal of becoming an insurance broker....more on this later...
