My pre-birthday weekend
This past weekend I went up to Toronto for some birthday celebrations with friends. Friday after work I drove to Cory's in Burlington (it was my new car's first trip to Burlington, though I am sure not its last). Since both of us had not ate dinner, we ended up eating at the Mandarin (I believe it was snow crab week or something, because let me tell you people were loading up on the olde snow crabs). Thanks Cory for treating!
The next day I went into Toronto to meet up with Chris and do some shopping and lots of walking! I had the blister to prove it. First we strolled up to Bloor street and to Yorkville. I mentioned to Chris that I needed to replace these old pair of jeans that I throw on after I get home from work (doesn't everyone have that pair of really comfortable pants they like to wear around the house) well, these jeans had seen better days. Chris mentioned to me this store lululemon ( I had heard of it but never been in one)and how he has the most comfortable pants he likes to throw on after work. So off we go to the store and let me tell you, I bought a pair of black capri pants that are amazing!( I am actually wearing them right now as I type). They feel like butter. They were worth every penny.
After resting and showering after our afternoon journey, we were off to the main event, my birthday dinner at Fuzion restaurant on Church. We had a great table on the patio (despite our greeters prediction of a rain storm which never happened). The weather was perfect, not too warm, just right for eating and talking.
I have to say, and bear in mind I am no foodie here, but I think it was one of the nicest meals I have ever had. I started with a duck dumpling served with a soy sauce for dipping, it was divine. For my entree I tried the Grouper. It was delicious. Finished with chocolate lava cake. It was terrific. And of course, I had a few drinks during the evening. It was a lovely birthday celebration with great food and even greater friends.
A big Thank You to Chris for planning the dinner (I understand many phone calls and begging were invloved to get this reservation) and for those who came out to celebrate with me, it was great seeing everyone and sharing the evening with you.
And now for the hard part. Turning 34!
