1st Pay Cheque

On Friday I received what I consider to be my first real pay cheque. Of course, I have had other pay cheques, but this one feels like the first real one, if that makes any sense. So Cory was suggesting that I should buy myself something with this first pay cheque, something perhaps I have always wanted and that will last a long time.

So yesterday I went out to the Oshawa Centre. Now honestly, I don't know if I bought anything really exciting because I was originally thinking of designer sunglasses. I ended up buying Pride and Prejudice and another mini-series called North & South (no, not the Patrick Swayze civil war epic) on DVD. I LOVE both of these series. I saw them both on PBS and have always wanted to buy them, but you know, came up with excuses not to buy them. For those who know the Pride and Prejudice I am talking about (the one with Colin Firth) you will understand my need to have it. Simply put, Colin Firth is the best Mr. Darcy ever!! Trust me, you will want to marry him and have many children. He is dreamy in this production.

I also did buy some new bras for myself (which could last a long time, depending on how rigorous my hand-washing regime is). I ended up buying that Forever New powder stuff you put into the water when hand washing (yes, I got upsold), not sure how different it is from say like Zero.

So, that was my little shopping spree yesterday. I guess I still need to buy some nice sunglasses, but I will wait until my contacts show up for that.

Buying Contacts

I just did something I have never done before: ordered contacts online.

I was a little leary of doing this, but quite frankly my eye doctor's office charges too much money for my contacts ($170). I ordered them through a site called ClearlyContacts.ca, it has pricing in Canadian dollars and they have all of the top name brands for contacts. I am actually saving $69 by ordering them online and it actually asked for a prescription and everything, so that makes me feel better about ordering online.

So, if you happen to need contacts, you might want to give them a look.
